The area where the surname occurred were in the following Polish towns: Makow, Radzyn, Krasnystaw, Pulawy, Lubartow, Chelm, Opoczno, Kozienice.

The name is derived from the German word for the occupation Szneider, or the Yiddish word Shnayder - Tailor.

Standing [R-L] Aunt Rywka, Uncle Dawid, Sheindale and Uncle Israel, Aunt Ruchcze and Uncle Shlomo, Grandmother Chana and Abraham Moshe.

Sitting: In the middle - Eliezer Sznajderman and to his right, his wife Eiga Sztatler.

The other two women and four girls are unknown.
